K Connection

The Kindergarten Connection is an afternoon enrichment program for kindergarten students in area schools. The program includes special activities, playtime, stories, and a great deal of fun while the children learn new information and reinforce skills learned in kindergarten.

The schedule is 12:45-2:45, Monday through Friday. For an additional fee students may also enroll in the Lunch Bunch program, 11:45-12:30.  Bus transportation for Lunch Bunch participants is provided from Lincoln School in Westfield.

Each day features a different teacher and special activities:


ART THROUGH THE ALPHABET (Monday) with Mrs. Ripperger
Mrs. Ripperger teaches winter art classes to the fours.  She will be teaching different techniques in art for each letter of the alphabet.  A sketchbook with weekly drawings is included in each session.

ROAD TRIP ACROSS AMERICA (Tuesday) with Mrs. Anderson
Mrs. Anderson, who travels with our Tiger Class around the world, will be teaching our kindergarten class about the United States.  They will be travelling to various states, learning about the states, creating postcards, learning map skills, tracking weather, and much more.
  

MATH MUNCHERS (Wednesday) with Mrs. Constantine
Mrs. Constantine, Wesley Hall’s resident chef, will teach kindergarten math skills through her cooking classes.  New tasty treats will be created each week and addition, subtraction, counting and measuring skills will be taught while making them.  Recipe books and special cooking clothing will be created.

FLIGHT TO FRANCE (Thursday) with Mrs. Conlon
Mrs. Conlon will introduce the children to the sights and sounds of France.  They will learn to converse in the language, create books about France,  word books in French.  French songs and games are a part of each class.  The children will make passports for "visiting" French speaking countries on a world tour.

SENSE-ATIONAL SCIENCE (Friday) with Mrs. Schulz
Mrs. Schulz, our kindergarten teacher, will explore the world of science.  The children will learn about various habitats and the animals that live there.  They will travel inside their bodies and become the blood that enters and exits the heart.  Other topis include seeds and plants, magnetism, weather, and lots of experimentation.
